Book Description: DYNAMIC TRUTH is a reprint of the author's groundbreaking dissertation on Change in Seventh-day Adventist Theology. Submitted in 1995 and initially published in 1999 (Part I) and 2000 (Part II), it is the first and only in-depth study to date dealing with the issue of doctrinal development from an Adventist perspective. Part I analyzes the intricate problem of doctrinal development and presents a historical survey of theories of doctrinal change, classifying them in three ideal types. In the author's view, a dialectic approach concerned about substantial continuity as well as authentic change can best avoid the pitfalls of dogmatic immobilism and revisionism. Part II provides a detailed study of the problem of doctrinal change in a Seventh-day Adventist setting. It analyzes the extent, nature, and direction of doctrinal developments in the light of the religious background of the church and the social forces at work in it. It also discusses the church's response to doctrinal adjustments and Ellen G. White's involvement in, and conception of, doctrinal change. The study concludes that Adventist teachings have been significantly affected by theological and hermeneutical developments under the impact of social forces nudging the church closer towards evangelical Protestantism. Ellen White, co-founder of the church, was personally involved in theological change. Her concept of doctrinal development shows a remarkable depth of insight and presents a well-balanced approach to the dynamics of faith and truth.

Book Description: This edition has incorporated some more details about the persons whose life stories are presented. This book exposes a pending debt to fill an existing gap in the historic area. That debt continues to be to recognize the fervour and enthusiasm to communicate the Gospel that guided many women. These women dedicated their lives in a self-sacrificing and laborious way to contribute to establish and strengthen the spreading of the Adventists beliefs in the countries that make up the present South American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This work recounts the story of some of those women. All of them have been women of faith, with their struggles and heartaches, but also with hope and victories in Christ. Their lives, their dedication and their leadership inspired in others an intense longing to be sons and daughters of God. Their passion for doing good and honouring God gave fruits that today leave us indebted to them. It is the author's desire that this book doesn't just fill a historic void, but that it motivates and inspires the development of all the potential of the woman filled with the Spirit of God that she may reflect His grace and mercy towards human beings.

Book Description: Sometimes life breaks us. Sometimes we find ourselves lost in all the hurt and confusion we have to live with every day. Sometimes it feels as though we cannot possibly endure another moment. And sometimes we find ourselves so low that we literally weep through the night. King David was familiar with and spoke often of this pain. However, he also knew of a greater hope—a hope that has the ability to lift our spirits as we wait for the coming joy in the morning. Joy in the Night shares ten of Don Rodney West’s most popular sermons, which he has presented around the world. From Jamaica to Mexico to New York, Pastor West provides the background information as to the location of his sermon and the reason for choosing each topic before diving into the sermon. Written with humor and compassion yet not lacking in seriousness and truth, Pastor West delves into ten different concepts, all of which reflect not only the joy we may experience in the morning but also the joy we can find in the night in the midst of our trials.
