Book Description: This book shows some contributions presented in the 2010 International Conference on Robotic Welding, Intelligence and Automation (RWIA’2010), Oct. 14-16, 2010, Shanghai, China. Welding handicraft is one of the most primordial and traditional techniques, mainly by manpower and human experiences. Weld quality and efficiency are, therefore, straightly limited by the welder’s skill. In the modern manufacturing, automatic and robotic welding is becoming an inevitable trend. In recent years, the intelligentized techniques for robotic welding have a great development. The current teaching play-back welding robot is not with real-time functions for sensing and adaptive control of weld process. Generally, the key technologies on Intelligentized welding robot and robotic welding process include computer visual and other information sensing, monitoring and real-time feedback control of weld penetration and pool shape and welding quality. Seam tracking is another key technology for welding robot system. Some applications on intelligentized robotic welding technology is also described in this book, it shows a great potential and promising prospect of artificial intelligent technologies in the welding manufacturing.

Book Description: The primary aim of this volume is to provide researchers and engineers from both academia and industry with up-to-date coverage of recent advances in the fields of robotic welding, intelligent systems and automation. It gathers selected papers from the 2018 International Conference on Robotic Welding, Intelligence and Automation (RWIA 2018), held Oct 20-22, 2018 in Guangzhou, China. The contributions reveal how intelligentized welding manufacturing (IWM) is becoming an inescapable trend, just as intelligentized robotic welding is becoming a key technology. The volume is divided into four main parts: Intelligent Techniques for Robotic Welding, Sensing in Arc Welding Processing, Modeling and Intelligent Control of Welding Processing, and Intelligent Control and its Applications in Engineering.

Book Description: Singular systems have been widely studied in the past two decades due to their extensive applications in modelling and control of electrical circuits, power systems, economics and other areas. Interest has grown recently in the stability analysis and control of singular systems with parameter uncertainties due to their frequent presence in dynamic systems, which is much more complicated than that of state-space systems because controllers must be designed so that the closed-loop system is not only robustly stable, but also regular and impulse-free (in the continuous case) or causal (in the discrete case), while the latter two issues do not arise in the state-space case. This monograph aims to present up-to-date research developments and references on robust control and filtering of uncertain singular systems in a unified matrix inequality setting. It provides a coherent approach to studying control and filtering problems as extensions of state-space systems without the commonly used slow-fast decomposition. It contains valuable reference material for researchers wishing to explore the area of singular systems, and its contents are also suitable for a one-semester graduate course.

Book Description: The control of mechanical systems with constraints has been a topic of intense research in the control and dynamical systems community for the past two decades. In particular, systems with velocity and/or acceleration level constraints which appear in many applications like - robotics, spacecrafts, launch vehicles, underwater vehicles - have been studied intensively. This monograph is a self-contained exposition on a switched, finite-time, control strategy for this class of systems. Beginning with basic definitions and mathematical preliminaries ...
